Crippling Western Drought

The drought hammering the Western United States is of biblical proportions. As the residents drink their bottled water in their air-conditioning, they fail to grasp how perilious their survival is. The United States is dreadfully unprepared for a water crisis that is emerging and shows no signs of abating. Americans have lived for too long as if the Earth has no value. It is coming back to get them.

Western states kick off summer under threat of crippling drought

Drought conditions in parts of the West are the worst in more than 400 years. Western governors will meet today with federal climate officials to assess conditions and discuss how to prepare for the threat of wildfires and what could be a dire summer for crops and drinking-water supplies.
